When shopping for a TV today, almost all the ones you will find are Smart TV's. I've had two Smart TV's and have had problems with both. The two most annoying problems are, first, the software has to be constantly updated. This can be a hassle. Second, when watching a YouTube video, there's always an ad before the video. I have tried, but there is no way to disable the YouTube ads on a Smart TV. But it very easy to do so on a laptop.
You can get a regular TV in any size for unbelievable prices, and still have a Smart TV. If you have a laptop (and who doesn't today?), all you have to do is connect it to your regular tv with an HDMI cable that you can probably get from your cable company at no charge. And wham! You now have a Smart TV. Everything you see on your laptop will now be on the TV screen. You can browse the internet from your coffee table, and enjoy YouTube videos without those annoying ads. Face it, a Smart TV is simply a TV that thinks it's a laptop.
Get more TV for your money. If you have a laptop, a regular TV, and an HDMI cable, you have a Smart TV.
