On the Sunday evening of Thanksgiving weekend, the Christmas movie, Switched for Christmas, premiered on the Hallmark Movie Channel.
I mention her name twice because the lovely lady played a double part. And let me tell you, she was brilliant. For Candace, this is not unusual, but this time, I think she even surpassed herself. This was by far the best performance I have ever seen on the Hallmark Movie Channel, and I have watched many of their movies over the years. Some I’ve even watched at least 10 times.
The Story Line for Switched for Christmas
Candice played two twin sisters from different lives, who switched places, and planned Christmas events. When you watch the movie, I recommend that you watch very closely. With Candace playing two parts, the movie can be very confusing. But this is one of two things about the movie that make it a first rate movie. Of course, the other is Candace herself.
In my opinion, this was a difficult role for an actor. She had to assume two characters, and she did it so gracefully, from the opening credits to the very end of the movie. I’ve seen many great actors on Hallmark, but there is no one who could have pulled this off besides Candace. In my opinion, this was a difficult role, because she had to assume two different characters. And she did it so brilliantly.
Candace Cameron Bure is definitely the Queen of Hallmark.
How Switched for Christmas compares with other Hallmark Christmas movies
When I heard Switched for Christmas was coming out, I honestly didn’t think it would be that good. In fact, I thought it would be a silly movie. I should have known better, because I’ve watched Candace Cameron Bure many times in the last 6 years and loved every movie I watched. When you watch this movie, you will know within 30 seconds that this is one of the best Christmas movies for 2017.
I have watched most of the new Christmas movies, and there are two great ones that immediately come to mind. A Bramble House Christmas starring Autumn Reeser and David Haydn-Jones is destined to be a classic. Christmas in the Air, with Catherine Bell and Eric Close is also a first rate movie. Of course, any movie with Catherine Bell has to be good, but I wouldn’t say that Eric Close took a back seat to her. He was just as good and convincing.
Switched for Christmas is every bit as good as these two first rate movies.
