People decide to go to the gym and try many other strategies to keep themselves fit and healthy. According to a recent survey of physicians, people should spend 150 minutes in a week exercising. Even exercise can’t replace the role of sitting, but standing can get rid of the problems caused by sitting, Even if you go to the gym and exercise, you will have a high obesity risk if you sit for a long time at your office. There are a lot of chances for chronic side effects.
If you can’t adapt to the stand up desk, then you must take occasional breaks in order to do some walking around the office. This can reduce the inactive mode and the stress. But on the other side of the coin, standing all day on your feet as a waitress, teacher, or retail clerk can also be difficult, in that there are chances for feet, leg and back problems.
You can get some of the best shoes for standing all day for your professional work. Another thing is that there is a risk for carotid arteries, cardiovascular problems, deep vein thrombosis, and varicose veins if you are standing for a long time.
So what can be done? Doctors and professionals will advise you to spend 20 minutes in your working seat in the neutral posture, 8 minutes standing and 2 minutes stretching or walking. In you’re working 8 hours a day, you will get 5 hours and 20 minutes sitting, 2 hours and 8 minutes standing and 32 minutes walking, give or take a few minutes.
